WfR/Jareth
The Tale of WfR
So there was like, this girl, and she was called WfR (except that wasn't her real name her real name was Jenn lol!) and she reeeeally liked Jareth from that film, it's called, like, Labyrinth, and has that guy in it, David Bowe (I don't know how to spell it lol!). And one day WfR was sitting at her computer when she saw a swirly green and red portal (should I have made it pink??? lol) and she went "Like, OMG! A portal! I must step through it!" and she stepped through it and found herself in the Labyrinth and she went like "OMG! I'm in the Labyrinth! I must go and find my One True Love, Jareth!" and she ran off.

* * *

WfR was sitting at the computer in her room in Jareth's castle, when suddenly the world began to tremble. Walking over to the window, she saw, down in the courtyard, a green and red portal. "That's odd," she muttered, "I didn't think the Five were going to come and visit."

Turning back to the computer, she typed quickly into the group conversation with Bjam, Kaitlyn, Huinesoron and BiD. ‘I can see a portal outside - which of you is coming to visit?' When all four responded with negatives, she frowned and looked back out of the window. The portal was gone, and in its place stood a very familiar looking girl.

WfR stared as the girl ran into the castle. Then she dashed back to the computer. ‘Guys,' she typed, ‘we may have a problem. I've just seen myself. Wearing pink. And going squee.'

* * *

So WfR ran into the castle and she saw a goblin and went "Like, where is my One True Love?" and the goblin looked confused and she sighed and went, "Like, Jareth (OMG! lol)" and the goblin went, "Oh," and it (like, do you get boy and girl goblins? lol) told her where Jareth was. And then she ran along the corridors until she found the room the goblin had said and she went in and Jareth was there and she was like "OMG! Squee!" and she glomped him. And Jareth was like "WfR? What's wrong with you?" but then he suddenly changed and was like "OMG! My One True Love!"

* * *

WfR strode down the corridors of Jareth's castle, muttering to herself. "This is not good, this is not good." All around her, the goblins were acting completely OOC, painting the walls pink, dancing in little circles, offering her flowers. Even with her relatively untrained senses, she could feel the ‘Sue's power flowing through the castle, turning everything pink and fluffy. Only she was unaffected - the ‘Sue didn't even know she was here.

"No," she said, looking up at the ceiling, "not only me." What? Oh - you mean me, do you? She nodded. Well, that's not entirely true. Even up here in narrator-space, I've been invaded. The ‘Sue has brought her own narrator with her - one far more powerful than me. Pretty much all I can control is the area immediately around you.

WfR looked around. Indeed, where she walked, the goblins were stopping their happy, sickeningly sweet tasks, and looking around in bewilderment. As soon as she moved on, however, they went back to acting like brainless fangirls.

As she came closer to Jareth's rooms, the ‘Sue's influence became stronger. The narration was controlled by the ‘Sue everywhere except a few inches around her body. It was obvious that this was where the ‘Sue was hiding.

* * *

So WfR was with her One True Love Jareth (OMG! He's so hott!!1) when SUDDENLY the door to their room burst open and a GIRL ran in. And the girl yelled "Get away from him, ‘Sue!" and WfR said, "My name is WfR! And, like, OMG, who are you anyway? Save me Jareth!" and Jareth was like "OMG! Who are you and what are you doing in my castle???"

* * *

WfR shook her head sadly. "She really has got to you, hasn't she? Well, no more." And with that, she strode over and threw herself at the ‘Sue.

The two areas of narratorial influence intersected violently. Like, OMG, you can't do this! Yes I can, and I am. The walls were pretty and, like, pink and the walls changed back to their normal serene stone. There were lots of, like, pretty pink flowers, and then there were not as the ‘Sue was completely enveloped in the real narrator's influence, cutting her off from her power and sending shock waves through the castle.

Throughout the corridors, goblins tumbled to the floor. As they picked themselves up, wondering what they had been doing, there was the sound of a fading scream of ‘Like, OMG, you're so meeeeeeean...', and then silence.

WfR stood up. "Thank you," she said, glancing up. "I wasn't sure if that would work." Of course it did - ‘Sue narrators may have power, but I have experience.

"WfR?" mumbled Jareth, immediately drawing her attention to him.

"Yes, Jareth?"

"What was just happening? I seem to recall you informing me that this room had to be painted pink..." The Goblin King frowned, then stood up. "In fact, I seem to recall a lot of things. Would you mind explaining?"

WfR gestured behind her. "I think you'll find it was all down to - oh, no, where's she gone?"

For the bed where the false WfR had been lying was empty. The ‘Sue had fled.

WfR ran through the Labyrinth as fast as she could. It had all been going perfectly, but now it was ruined. That girl claiming to be her had interrupted just as she was about to get Jareth to marry her, and now her powers had been severely limited. Where before she could influence the entire Labyrinth, now she could just about manage one person, if she concentrated and could see them.

"Like, it's not fair," she muttered as she ran. "Jareth is my One True Love, not that icky girl. Mine!"

"Yes, dear, I'm sure he is," said a voice from around the next corner. WfR froze as a girl stepped out. "But you see, we don't like you."

As two more girls and a boy stepped up behind the first girl, WfR wasted no time in escaping. Running over to a nearby vase, she ripped the lid off and threw herself down the hole within. It was a long way down, but in time she reached the end of the long slide.

* * *

Bjam stared after the girl. "Yep, that's our ‘Sue all right."

"Was there really any doubt?" said Huinesoron from behind her. "We all know WfR would never run around in pink going ‘like'."

"That's true."

"Well, what are we waiting for?" said BiD. "Do we want to catch her or not?"

"What you are waiting for," said WfR, stepping around a corner, "is me. Hi."

Bjam beamed. "Everyone's here. Good. Let's go!" She led the rest of the five over to the vase.

"Um," said Kaitlyn peering into the dark hole in the ground, "are you sure this is the best way? If there was some sort of shortcut, we could come out in front of her, rather than chasing her around down there instead."

"She's got a point," agreed Huinesoron. "WfR, you've been here long enough to know this. Any other way down?"

"Of course there are," she replied in irritation.

"Well, where are they?" asked BiD, impatiently. WfR thought for a moment, then led them over to another vase. Lifting the lid, she looked down. "Ah, this is what we need. Come on." With that, she jumped in, and was gone.

Bjam shrugged. "I guess we'd better follow her." One by one, the four of them leapt into the pot and down the steep, slippery slope.

WfR ran along a tunnel with rocky walls, then stopped and screamed. Carved into the wall was a big face, and its eyes were moving to watch her. "Like, OMG!" she screamed. "That's, like, horrid!"

"Who are you calling horrid?" asked the face in a deep voice. As she ran back along the tunnel, screaming loudly, it muttered, "Well, I won't do that again, then.

WfR ran and ran, until finally she ran headlong into the people she had originally been running from. Literally. As she tried to get up off the floor, she noticed with dismay that the girl who had stolen her One True Love had joined them. She also noticed that it was rather difficult to get up.

"Like, get off my back!"

"No, sorry," said a cheerful voice. She twisted her head around to see a dark-haired girl sitting on top of her, bouncing slightly.

The boy over by the wall sighed. "Kaitlyn, we don't want to break her. By all means, sit, but try not to jump up and down too hard."

Kaitlyn nodded cheerfully. Then one of the other girls said, "What do we want to do with her? WfR?"

WfR tried to answer, but had the wind knocked out of her by Kaitlyn bouncing again. The girl subsided at the boy's Look, but by that time the other girl, the one who claimed to be WfR, had spoken.

"I don't know... I don't think we can torture her, really. Maybe we could throw her in the oubliette?"

WfR's eyes widened. "Like, no!" Gathering all her strength, she threw off the girl named Kaitlyn off, rose, lunged at the one pretending to be her... and tripped over the outstretched foot of the last girl, the one who had not yet spoken.

As she fell, she heard a voice say, "Good job, BiD." Then she hit the floor, hard, and all was black.

* * *

WfR awoke in darkness. She could feel the rocky floor beneath her feet, and could see a single shaft of light. Rising painfully to her feet, she looked up the beam. Through a narrow grille, she could see a shaft filled with hands, and at the top a circle of daylight. She knew then where she was.

* * *

The Five watched in Jareth's crystal as the ‘Sue beat at the walls of the oubliette. When she finally sank into a sobbing heap, they turned away. "Well," said WfR, "I suppose I should thank you for your help."

Kaitlyn grinned. "No need. You came to help me and Huinesoron when we got stuck, we did the same. Anyway, we all wanted to see the Labyrinth ourselves."

WfR laughed. "Yes, you would, wouldn't you?"

Off to one side, Bjam gestured to the green and red portal she had finished setting up. "Come on, people - let's go." BiD, Kaitlyn and Huinesoron said their goodbyes and stepped through, back to their respective homes. WfR didn't move.

"Come on," said Bjam, "I can't keep it open forever."

WfR smiled as Jareth stepped into the room and walked over to her. "I'm not coming. I'm happy here."

Observing the smiling pair, Bjam couldn't argue. "Well, bye, then. I'll see you online." As she stepped through the portal, she turned her head to see WfR hugging a smiling Goblin King. Then she was home.
